About

I’m the mom of a 10 year old boy with HF Autism. In my travels, I’ve learned much about autistic spectrum disorders, resources that help families of children with autism, as well as those that help adults with autism and asperger’s. I’d like to share those resources with those who could benefit from them on my website, www.autisticgenius.com, as well as any personal insight, information or personal opinions here, in this blog.

The reason I started designing t-shirts and gifts for www.autisticgenius.com is because I couldn’t find hardly any t-shirts, stickers or items that supported a pro-autism message. Everything I saw was about how bad it was and how we must find a cure and solve the puzzle. Now I’m all for advancement in science and helping those with ASD in a big way… but I also understand and want to celebrate the gifts that those who think differently, like my son, bring to this world. I think this would be a far less advanced, far less interesting place without those who are not neurotypical. History shows us that many of our greatest inventors, scientists, engineers, innovators and thinkers have been somewhere on the spectrum.

Therefor, my mission with my designs is to celebrate neurodiversity with humor, wit and acceptance. I’d like to see the autistic genius in many come forth and thrive.

I’d also like to see a lot more education about what it is to have autism, be on the spectrum, have asperger’s or HF autism… we all come and bring different gifts to this planet. It’s time for the spread of understanding, in addition to the support for those who have autism to be all that they can be.

If you like my t-shirts, mugs, stickers, etc. please buy them, give them as gifts to friends, to your advocates, family, children. The information, of course, is free and I’ll continue to post resources on my site as I come accross them. If you have anything you want to see on a t-shirt or item in my store, or if you would like to add a link to an autism/asperger’s resource for the public, please email me at bonnie@autisticgenius.com I’ll do my best to comply.
